Things you need to have before you follow the aftercare instructions:

⊕ Tattoo aftercare cream and soap (Beespoke Tattoo Cream & Soap – if purchased from JADS)

⊕ Fresh and clean paper towels/cloth

⊕ Clean water supply (room temperature)

⊕ Patience.

DAY – 01

  1. Right after the tattoo your tattoo artist has covered your tattoo with clear plastic wrap. This wrap will keep your tattoo safe from dirt, dust and germs. Leave it on for up to 3 hours.
  2. After 3 hours of getting your tattoo you can initiate the process of cleaning the tattoo. Firstly, wash your hands with soap. This will prevent your tattoo from getting infected. After washing your hands, you can remove the plastic film gently.
  3. Clean your tattoo with clean drinking water (avoid using Kathmandu’s tap water) and anti-bacterial soap. Do not put the soap directly over the tattoo. Rub the soap in your hands and apply the foam of soap over your tattoo. Gently rub your tattoo with your fingers to get rid of any blood, plasma, or ink.
  4. Do not let the tattoo soak in water for long. Tap dry the tattoo with a clean towel. Do not rub the tattoo with the towel. Wear loose clothes to allow the tattoo to breathe. Take rest for the day.
  5. Avoid activities that generates sweat and puts stress on the tattoo.

  4. Repeat this before bed, an hour before sleeping.

Day – 03

  1. Repeat the process from Day – 2

Day – 04

  1. As your skin heals, you might see thin scabs forming. Do not pick the scabs: this is really important for your tattoo. Picking them up can lead to blurred lines or bring damage to the tattoo.
  2. The tattoo might look a bit dull or cloudy, but that’s totally okay. The redness will gradually go away.
  3. There will be scabs over the tattoo and water should not stay on them. The scabs can hold water which can lead to infection. Do not let the tattoo soaked with water for long period. Tap dry instantly with clean cloth if water flows over your tattoo.
  4. Gently apply a tattoo aftercare cream after cleaning the tattoo. Keep your tattoo clean and moisturized every day.
  5. While your tattoo heals, it might release some ink residue. Blood and plasma come up to the surface during healing, mixing with extra ink in the top layers of skin, and naturally wash away. This is completely normal!

Day 04 onwards

  1. Do not remove the scabs (it needs to go away naturally).
  2. It’s okay if water drips over your tattoo while you shower. Just gently pat it dry instantly with a clean cloth.
  3. Keep using the aftercare cream: If your tattoo feels too dry, you can keep applying the cream sparingly once a day.
